Indian Seafarers remain favourites worldwide

The number of Indian seafarers engaged on merchant ships globally saw a sharp rise in 2017 to reached 154,349 in 2017 compared to 143,940 in 2016. India is the fifth biggest supplier of seafarers after China, the Philippines, Russia and Ukraine, according to the ‘Manpower Report 2015’, published by the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO) and the Internal Chamber of Shipping (ICS).
