Iran providing ships and insurance cover to India to continue oils exports post US sanctions

To counter the looming US sanctions on its oil trade, Iran has started to provide support to India in the form of shipping insurance as well as its own ships so that India continues crude oil imports from Iran. India’s state-owned oil and natural gas company Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd had to cancel the purchase of an Iranian oil cargo after it faced insurance issues.
