Indonesia implementing a ‘chain port plan’ to attract domestic transhipments

#MaritimeBlog: Indonesia’s transport ministry is working with its 4 major state-owned port operators on a plan to support the implementation of a hub and spoke system for domestic cargo distribution that focuses on creating Tanjung Priok as a primary domestic and international hub port.
The “integrated chain port” plan includes changes to regulation and the development of an information technology management system that is expected to bring home a larger share of transshipment business that originates domestically.
