Improving coastal connectivity – a significant point during recent India, Bangladesh talks

Improvement of coastal connectivity between India and Bangladesh was a significant topic of discussion between the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina, who visited India after seven years. Both countries agreed on the point that connectivity is crucial for the success of bilateral development of partnerships, and would support the larger regional economic prosperity. They also emphasized on the removal of all trade barriers including removal of port restrictions. India stressed on the point of enhancing connectivity among BBIN (Bhutan-Bangladesh- India-Nepal) countries to facilitate seamless transport of goods over land customs stations in South Asian countries.
