The Indian government is considering the formation of a unified transport authority to manage and improve freight movement across the country’s rail, road and water networks. A blueprint for the proposed Ministry envisages a greater impetus on multi-modal freight aggregators, construction of large multi-modal logistic hubs at Indian ports, and other such initiatives.
