Norway’s Kimek considers establishing shipyard in the Murmansk region

Norway’s ship repair and industrial services provider Kimek is looking to build a new shipyard in the Murmansk region to support Russia’s commercial vessels operating in the Barents Sea. Murmansk is Russia’s busiest Arctic port that handles millions of tons of cargo annually. However the region lacks a large civilian ship repair yard, an opportunity that Kimek seeks to fulfil.
